Gary R. Cain

Gary Raymond Cain was born in November of 1957, in Rockford, Illinois. Gary passed on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at the age of 64, due to cancer. During his passing, he was surrounded by his wife and children.
Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, our dad managed his illness with courage, grace, and strength. He wanted to spend his last days on Earth with his family and friends. Even during his last month with us, our dad never slowed down, even when his feet and stomach needed to. He had a to-do list, especially during the last days of his life because he wanted to make sure that his family was taken care of. That is the type of person our dad was, to always be thinking about others. This is not a “goodbye dad” but rather a “see you later”.
Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Cain Cahoy, father, Raymond Cain, sister, Joyce Cain (Stauffer), and his first granddaughter, Abigail Cain.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 10:00 am, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, located at 1301 Jackson Street, Pecatonica, Illinois 61063. After the service, family and friends are invited to gather in the church north wing for fellowship and to celebrate Gary’s life, and lunch will be provided. In lieu of flowers, Gary has asked that you make a donation to “Make A Wish” Foundation or the Memorial Fund at St. John’s Church.
