Gale A. Boyd nbsp; Gale A. Boyd, 95, a lifelong resident of Rockford, went to be with the Lord on March 7, 2008 at Rockford Memorial Hospital.nbsp; Gale was born February 26, 1913 in Rockford the son of Robert and Emma (Caldwell) Boyd.nbsp; Gale married Mary Alyce Blissard on March 20, 1943 in Rockford. nbsp; Gale graduated from Rockford Central High School in 1933 and was a US Army Veteran of World War II having served in Co. D, 130th Infantry, 33rd Division from April 22, 1941 until November 18, 1945.nbsp; He worked for J.I. Case Company in Rockford for 36 years and for the United States Post Office for five years.nbsp; Gale was a member of Christ United Methodist, a life member of EFW Ellis Masonic Lodge No.633 and former Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 12. Gale loved golfing, hunting, fishing and the outdoors. nbsp; Gale is survived by his wife, Mary Alyce; his three sons, Robert (Diane), Roger (Regina) and Scott (Cathy) Boyd; his grandchildren, Marcy, Brian, George, David and Ryan; his brother, Gene (Muriel) Boyd; his sister, Coyla Lee and many nieces and nephews.nbsp; Gale was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Glenn Boyd; his two sisters, Vayda Bengston and Hazel Sully. nbsp; Funeral services for Gale will be on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 11 AM at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Rev. Cindy S.
