Frank M. Cascio, 83, lifelong Rockford resident, died of a broken heart on Sunday, October 13, 2013 in Presence St. Anne Center. Born February 20, 1930, son of Luca and Frances Domico Cascio. Married Anna A. Gagliano in Rockford on June 10, 1950. Employed as a machine operator by Weyerhauser Corp. for many years, retiring in 1992. Frank enjoyed going to garage sales and doing woodworking. He especially loved working in his yard and gardening.
Frank is lovingly survived by his children, Carol (Charles) Terrana and Michael (Diane) Cascio; grandchildren, Andrea (Chad) Eschen and Matthew (Michelle) Cascio; brothers and sisters, Benny Cascio, Mary Anderson, Angelo (Carm) Cascio, Iggy (Shirley) Cascio, Luke (Nina) Cascio, Salvatore (Mary Jo) Cascio, Rosalie (Leonard) Bagnowski; sister-in-law, Gladys Cascio and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, his wife, Anna, on July 28, 2013 and brothers and sisters, Antionette Foster, John Cascio, Mike Cascio, Peter Cascio, Josephine Ferro and Betty Nelson.
Funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2013 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. with Rev. Carl Beekman officiating. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation from 10:30 a.m. until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
