Frank J. Zielinski

Frank J. Zielinski, 87, of Rockford, died in his home on January 12, 2019. Born March 11, 1931 in Rockford, the son of Frank and Josephine (Petkus) Zielinski. On September 13, 1952, Frank married the love of his life, Mildred M. Kisting at St. Patrick Church in Rockford.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Frank devoted his life to his family. He had a tremendous work ethic and service to others, which he instilled in his children.
Frank was a graduate of East High School, class of ‘48 and the University of Illinois, College of Pharmacy, class of ’53. He was a member of the Church of St. Patrick and a former member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and Holy Name Society.
In 1996, Frank was honored to be selected as the Polish American Father of the Year, by the Ethnic Heritage Museum of Rockford. He served the Rockford area as a caring Registered Pharmacist for over 50 years.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Millie Zielinski; children, Kathleen (David) Cerutti, Steven (Betty) Zielinski, Michael (Susan) Zielinski, Joseph (Carrie) Zielinski, Jane Zielinski, Ann (Steve) Koepsell, John (Lisa) Zielinski, James (Teresa) Zielinski, and Thomas (Angie) Zielinski; brother, Ronald Zielinski; 24 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Edward Frank Zielinski (1971); daughter, Mary Kathleen Zielinski (1958) and a sister, Lucille Fortner.
Funeral Mass 11 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Church of St. Patrick, 2505 School Street, Rockford. Visitation 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Church of St. Patrick or Corpus Christi Monastery of the Poor Clares, 2111 S.
