Frank Bubnack, 95, Rockford, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 11, 2016, in his home. He was born September 23, 1920, in Minoa, New York, the son of Harry and Margaret (Kush) Bubnack. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army in the European Theatre and received the Purple Heart medal. Frank married Mary Rumley on May 14, 1949, in Indianapolis, IN. She passed away in Rockford on June 16, 2010. He was a salesman for McGraw-Edison for 18 years and then was in sales at Pierce Box and Paper ,and then Stamar Packaging, and retiring from Grafcor Packaging at age 80. Frank was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 1207.
Survived by his sons, Gary of Stillman Valley, Randy (Valerie) of Rockford, and David (Jannice) of Loves Park; his grandchildren, Emily, Joel, and Shay Bubnack, Kali (her fiancé, Austin Uhrig), Caleb, Samuel and Maddi Bubnack, and Kaila and Craig Bubnack; his brother, Don of Syracuse, NY; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Mary; his 11 brothers and sisters.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, April 18, 2016, at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Drive, Rockford. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd, Rockford and on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M.at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer Association of Rockford in honor of Mary, American Legion, or the VFW appreciated. Share online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
