Frank "Allen" Nightingale Jr.

Frank “Allen” Nightingale Jr., 87, of Cherry Valley, passed away June 25, 2018 in Rockford surrounded by his family. Born January 25, 1931 in Jacksonville, FL; he was the son of Frank A. and Mabel C. (Peacock) Nightingale Sr.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Allen was a member of the Tebala Shriners.
He was an avid reader who enjoyed wood working, music, gardening, bird watching and spending time with his grandchildren, whom he adored.
Survivors include his children, Darcy Ekstrom, Lynn (Timothy) Lorello, Frank “Chip” A. Nightingale III and LeAnn (John) Larson; grandchildren, Alexander, Ian, Meara and Grant Lorello, Jonathan Rose, Aubrey, Joshua, and Isabella Larson; brother, Kenneth (Elisabeth) W. Nightingale; sisters, M. Jeanette Ellison and Florence E. Murrin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Katheryn E. Carter and son-in-law, Steven M. Ekstrom.
