Frank A. Costello, 91, of Rockford, died peacefully on Thursday, September 30, 2015. He was born on July 16, 1924; to parents Phillip and Concetta Costello. Frank married his loving wife, Vivian Mae Noel on July 4, 1947; Vivian passed away on November 29, 1972. He owned and operated the “It” Liquor Store for several years, then was a sales person at Armanetti’s Liquor Store in Colonial Village, the Cork Liquors at Five Points, Pri Dom Liquors at Alpine Village. Frank was very active at St. James Catholic Church in Rockford, where he served as a communion minister, and also visited nursing homes and private homes distributing communion to those who were unable to attend church. He was an avid Chicago Cubs Fan, as well as Chicago Bears Fan. He was so hoping for a Chicago Cubs World Series win! Go Cubbies!!
He is survived by his children, Sharon (Vincent) Enna, Marsha (Dick) Newburg, Charles Costello, Frank (Sharon) Costello, and Denise Sandine; 16 grandchildren, and 33 great grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be November 7, 2015, Saturday, at 10:00AM; at St. James Catholic Church, 428 N. 2nd St. Rockford, IL, 61107. Burial to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00AM until time of prayers at 9:45AM at Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. James Catholic Church or to the Costello Family.
