Francisco "Frank" Esparza

Francisco “Frank” Esparza, 100, of Rockford, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022. He was born on May 27, 1922, in Mexico City, the son of Margarito and Sara (Trejo) Esparza. He married Joaquina “Jo” Flores on August 4, 1946, in Mexico City. She predeceased Frank on January 20, 2021. He worked as a meat cutter for Swift Processed Meats Co. Frank was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed ballroom dancing with his wife Jo. He was a family man and loved spending time with his family here and in Mexico.

He is survived by his son, George (Debra) Esparza; daughter-in-law, Mary Esparza; grandchildren, Kristen Hynes and Ryan (Roberta) Esparza; great grandchildren, Braden and Chase Hynes, Lilian, Ruby, and Cruz Esparza. He is predeceased by his parents; wife, Jo; son, Arthur Esparza; brothers, Juan, Margarito, Polo and Jorge; sisters, Guadalupe, Soledad, and Maria De La Luz.

The family would like to give a special thanks for the excellent care from Transitions Hospice, and Theresa, his parish nurse from Holy Family.
