Frances "Fran" Vollmer

Frances “Fran” A. Vollmer, 73, of Rockford died Sunday, July 17, 2016 in her home. Born October 25, 1942 in Beloit, WI the daughter of Lee and Mary (Ragalski) Sager. Graduated from Bishop Muldoon High School, class of 1960 and married her loving husband, Alfred Vollmer on Nov. 17, 1962 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Fran worked for Conseco Insurance Company for 20 years and LifeTouch for 5 years until her retirement in 2005. Fran was an active member of the 3rd Order of St. Francis since 1965, Grams miniature club, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Catholic Women’s League and former Docent at Tinker Cottage. Fran and Al were faithful and dedicated members of St. Peter Cathedral for many years and with that has come numerous friendships. She was a kind and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend that will be missed dearly.
Survivors include her daughters, Donna Lashock, Theresa Vollmer and AnneMarie (David) Melton; grandchildren, Michael (Nicole) and Stephen Lashock, David, Deanna, Darren and Dean Melton; sisters, Joan (David) Halbrader, Mary (John) Giliberti, Monica (Rich) Konitski and Nancy (Tracy) Spahr; brother, Richard (Michelle) Sager; sister-in-law, Sandy Sager; many nieces and nephews and special aunt, Doris Carlini. Fran was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Al in 2015, son-in-law, Bradley Lashock and brothers, Paul, Donald and Gregory Sager.
Funeral Mass Friday, July 22, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Cathedral of St. Peter, 1243 N. Church St. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago, IL. Visitation Thursday, July 21 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. from 5- 7 p.m. with a rosary service to be recited at 7:15 p.m. Visitation continues on Friday at church from 9 a.m. until time of prayer at 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family.
