Forrest L. Ditto

Forrest “Mandy” L. Ditto, 79, passed away April 2, 2021. He was born on June 18, 1941 son to Phillip and Nellie (DeArmon) Ditto. He married the love of his life, Karin Last on February 13, 1960 in Rockford, Illinois and together had three children. Forrest was a very funny man, he loved jokes and liked to do word searches or puzzles to keep his mind sharp. When he could he would golf locally but his true happiness was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He will be missed by those who loved him most, his children, Brian Ditto, Michael (Laurie) Ditto, Kathleen (Michael) Venable; his grandchildren, Sarah (Josh) Peterson, Matthew Ditto, Carly (Mark) Metzger, Courtney Ditto, Elizabeth (Garrett) Conover, and Jacob Venable; his great grandchildren Jeslyn and Joleigh “JoJo” Peterson, MJ, Brock and Noah Ditto, Maisie Metzger, Gabriella “Gabby” and Joseph Conover; his siblings Phillip (Sue) Ditto, Ruth (Ron) Potter, sisters-in-law Mary Ann (Jim) Leonard and Judy (John) Miller; his brother-in-law Charles (Joanne) Last and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Karin; his parents; his siblings Farris (Dede) Ditto and Mary (Ralph) Torgerson.
A visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 7th, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois 61108. A Funeral Service will take place the day following, Thursday, April 8th, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Arlington Memorial Park.
