Florence Virginia Rose, 88, of Rockford, passed away Thursday December 2, 2010 in her home.nbsp; She was born April 19, 1922 in Mount Carroll, IL; the daughter of James and Emma Buxton.nbsp; She married Harry Rose in Rockford on May 9, 1942; Harry predeceased her on March 25, 2003.nbsp; She worked for Guzzardo Music for many, many years.nbsp; Florence was a die-hard Cubs and Bulls fan who loved to travel to Fort Meyers with her husband.nbsp; She also enjoyed playing cards with her close friends of whom she was especially fond of.nbsp; Florence was a graduate of Mount Carroll High School and in her later years she found several of her classmates and about 6 or 8 of them would get together for reunions and called themselves The Golden Girls. She was also a member of Riverside Community Church.
Survivors include her son, James Rose of Rockford; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; sons-in-law, Richard Binger of Rockford and Dan Mills of Parsons, KS.nbsp; Predeceased by her parents; children, Judith Binger and Joanne Mills and sisters, Ruth and Emily.nbsp; The family would like to thank Dr. Willard Moore and Karen Beksel for their compassion and care of Florence.
Funeral service will be at 11:00am, Monday, December 6, 2010 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation will be held from 5pm until 7pm Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, nbsp;Riverside Chapel and also from 10:30 until service time Monday at the funeral home.nbsp; Memorials may be made to VNA Hospice, 4223 E State St, Rockford, IL 61108.
