Florence K. Zeal

Florence K. Zeal, 96, of Rockford, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born on March 9, 1920, in Galena, IL, the daughter of Andrew and Julia (Kuhl) Bussan. She married Dale Zeal on July 27, 1942. In 1945, they relocated to Rockford. She retired from K-Mart in 1982 as a department manager. She was an avid golfer, and member of Sinnissippi and Elliot golf league. She was a devoted member of Holy Family Church, a volunteer at St. Anne Center, where she was also a member of Holy Family Women’s Guild, and St. Anne Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Dale; her son, Charles (Terri) Zeal; her grandchildren, Andrew Zeal and Allison Zeal, who she greatly loves; her sister’s in-law, Carol Bussan and Nadene Bussan; numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Camilla Stovall, Marita Metzger, and Lenora Donahue; her brothers, Vincent, Delbert, LeRoy, and Melvin Bussan.
Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Road, Rockford. Inurnment private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Holy Family Catholic Church or OSF Home Care Services appreciated.
