Florence K. Palmeri, 84, Devoted Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Aunt Florence K. Palmeri, 84, Rockford, died at 6:25 a.m. Monday, February 25, 2008 in her home. Born May 6, 1923 in Rockford, daughter of Giovanni and Amadea Pompeo DAgostin. Graduate of West High School where she played first chair trumpet in the band. Married Peter F. Palmeri in Rockford in February, 1946. Employed by the Rockford Board of Education for many years. She was an accomplished musician, excelling at the mandolin. Her kind and gentle spirit was felt by everyone who knew her. Survivors include her son, Dr. Russ Palmeri, Asheville, NC; daughter, Marcia Beaumont, Rockford; grandchildren, Laura (Jonathan) Larssen and Aaron Beaumont; sisters, Alesia Giacomazzo and Palma Rinaldo; sister-in-law, Dorothy DAgostin as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband in November, 1986, her parents, brother, Arthur DAgostin and sister, Elena Giacomazzo. Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2008 in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Rev. William R. Wentink officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemtery. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at the church on Thursday. Arrangements were completed by Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd.
