Florence E. Schultz

Florence Elizabeth Schultz, 85, of Freeport, IL, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021.

Florence was born in Chicago, IL on October 18, 1935, daughter of Leo and Joan (Cammisar) Stoesser. Florence married Kenneth E. Schultz in Chicago on August 17, 1963. She was very proud of her career as a dental assistant to pediatric dentist, Dr. Harold W. Bonus in Glen Ellyn, IL. She was a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Rockford, IL. Florence was active in the Quilt Guild as well as the Red Hat Society. She often enjoyed spending her time gardening and quilting. Florence will be dearly missed.

Surviving relatives include her children, Ken (Susan) Schultz, Chrisa (James) Matheson and Dorathy (Carl) White; grandchildren, Adam (Tonya) Schultz, Ashley Schultz, Terri Matheson (George) Sirois, Peter Matheson (Jessica Rodriguez), Mitchell (Sabrina) White, Jared (Abby) White and Ian White (Ashleigh Wilson); 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Rose Donahue and sister-in-law, Bernadette Stoesser. Florence is predeceased by her parents; husband, Kenneth; brother, Thomas Stoesser and grandson, John Matheson.

Walk-through visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd. Rockford, IL 61107. Those attending services must wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines. Final resting place will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, River Grove, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Florence’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
