Flora R. Jones

Flora "Ruth" Jones, 88, Rockford, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 3, 2012, in her sons home surrounded by her family. She was born July 21, 1923, in Rossville, Georgia, the daughter of Lemmie and Beatrice (Bendle) Wright. Ruth married Fred Jones, Jr. in June, 1938. He passed away September, 1971. She was a waitress at Marias Italian Restaurant for 22 years, retiring 19 years ago. Ruth attended Family Bible Fellowship Church. She played the guitar and sang in the church choir. She was an avid walker.Survived by her children, Lily (Edward) Zurowski of Rockford, Eunice (Jerry) Kuehne of Machesney Park, Elmer (Teresa) Jones of Rockford, and Margaret (Nick) Castronovo of Rockford; 17 grandchildren, 19 greatgrandchildren, and 8 greatgreat grandchildren; sisters, Juanita Gregory, Lulu Lee, Marian (Gene) Scarlett, Sherrie Bryant, all of Knoxville, Tennessee, Sylvia Hare of Nagshead, North Carolina; brothers, Chris (Joyce) Crisp of Knoxville, Tennessee and OBrien (June) Crisp of Hemet, California; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by her parents, her husband, Fred; daughter and her husband, Carol and Bob Gould; brothers, James Wright and Andrew "AJ" Crisp; sister, Louise Stuart; and brotherinlaw, Robert Lee.Funeral services will be at 11:00am, Friday, January 6, 2012, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Av. with Pastor Jeff Peterson officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation from 9:00 am until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
