F. Mark Day, 95
Rockford- F. Mark Day, 95, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014 at Wesley Willows. Born January 6, 1919, in Rockford, the son of Walter Carlin & Mathilda (Zoler) Day. Mark served in the US Navy, during WWII. Married Dolores Thornton in Rockford, on September 11, 1946. Mark worked for Hamilton Sundstrand for forty three years, retiring in 1984. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, traveling, and making wonderful wines. Mark was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, and his dog Duke.
Survivors include wife Dolores; sons Mark, Gary, and Chuck (Lori) Day; daughters Mary Ann and Peggy Day; grandchildren Ryan (Sarah) of Tasmania, Australia, Monica (Adam), and Emily; Great grandchildren Maddox and Claudia also of Tasmania, Australia. Numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by parents; son Robert; brother Richard, and sister, Sister Vera Marie.

Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, October, 28, 2014 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 – 6 p.m. Monday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel. 3910 N. Rockton Ave., Rockford, IL 61103.
