Evelyn Sylvia (Ring) Patterson

Evelyn Sylvia (Ring) Patterson, 93, of Belvidere, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. She was born on December 14, 1928, in Tazewell County, Virginia, the daughter of Hubert L. and Louise E. (McCoy) Ring. She worked as a laborer for Porter Tool and General Mills. Later in life, Miss Evelyn earned her GED. She enjoyed cooking and baking, was a “mad crocheter”, and loved spending time with her children.
Miss Evelyn is survived by those who loved her most, her children, Robert (Lee) Joyce, Sandra Kay (Gary) Pearson, and Walter “Shorty” Joyce; five grandchildren; Dana, Danette, Robbie, Brenden and Cathy; and eleven great grandchildren; Brock, Nathan, Paxon, Brett, Jason, Max, Autumn, Sage, Hannah, Joshua and Maddie, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents; son, Paul Keith “PJ”; and her four siblings, Warren, Noel, Frank, and Dean.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Swedish American Hospital, Promedica, formerly Heartland Hospice, and the Heritage Woods staff for all their care and support, and Presence St. Anne Place.
