Evelyn R. Jacobsen

Evelyn R. Jacobsen took her last big trip on the morning of February 3, 2008. Born October 27, 1924, daughter of Elmer ""Bant"" Riley and Jenny ""Toot"" Bocker Riley. Ev is survived by her husband of nearly 65 years, Lee ""Jake"" Jacobsen, son Riley (Amy) Jacobsen and grandchildren , Spencer and Molly Jacobsen all of Rockford and her beloved dog, Sammy. Predeceased by her parents, her brother Terry Riley and by an infant brother and sister. Ev lived life to the fullest and traveled the world for many years with her husband Jake. She also enjoyed frequent appearances on her son Rileys radio show on WROK. She lived most of her life in Oregon, IL, and as a young girl she excelled in horseback riding, swimming and roller skating. Her greatest joy in life was her family. Cremation was her request and she desired no visitation or service. Her family would like to thank OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, in particular, ER nurse AJ for the kindness and caring treatment of Ev. Also many thanks to Dr. Dennis Norem, Michelle and others at Rockford Clinic on Mulford. Special thanks to Fran, Paul and Ellen and all of her wonderful neighbors and friends. The family was assisted by Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd.
