She went on to attend the Nursing School at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford and graduated from St. Anthony Nursing in 1967.
Evelyn married Richard J. Fleming on August 29, 1959 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Freeport, IL and moved to Rockford, IL. Evelyn had a passion for nursing and loved to help everyone around her. She also loved her times as a Girl Scout Troop Leader, baking her famous tea rings, camping with her children and grandchildren and was always the first one in the car for a Sunday drives. Evelyn had many stories and loved to hear others stories no matter where she was or who she was with. Evelyn and Richard are very well known and loved at St. James of Rockford Parish were they have been parish members for over 35 years. Evelyn was always someone that could be called on in a moment’s notice and be there no matter what was asked or needed of her.
Evelyn lived a full and wonderful life and leaves behind her husband, children, grandchildren and many other family and friends. She is pre-deceased by her parents and son-in-law, Peter Zaluba.
