Evelyn A. ""Peg"" Murray Evelyn A. ""Peg"" Murray, 88, of Rockford, died on February 28, 2008 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Peg was born April 8, 1919 in Rudolph, Wisconsin the daughter of Arnold Van Lyssel and Dora Van Laneen. Peg graduated from St. Philips Catholic School in Rudolph, WI in 1932 and married Roy Murray in Wisconsin Rapids, WI on June 29, 1940. Peg was a homemaker and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and former member of St. Patrick Catholic Church for 51 years. She was a member of Legion of Mary for 23 years, an honorary member of St. Catherines Guild (formerly Altar and Rosary Society), coordinator for ""Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Chapel"" and had many years of volunteer work for various church organizations including the Bishop Lane Retreat House. Peg was also named Woman of the Year at Holy Family Catholic Church in 2004. Peg is survived by her son, Ronald Murray; her grandsons, David and Jacob Murray; her granddaughter, Heidi (Jason) Bennett; her step-granddaughter, Angela Barron; 4 great-grandchildren and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Peg was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roy (January 8, 1990 seven brothers, John. Lawrence, Edward, William, Norbert, Earl and Clarence and her four sisters, Frances, Marie, Bardine and Alice. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 10 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd. followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday from 5 8 pm, with a rosary service at 7 pm at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, and on Tuesday from 9 am until time of Mass at the Church.
