Eugene Lashock

Eugene Lashock, 89, of Rockford, died at 9:20 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016, in his home, surrounded by family. Born June 14, 1927, in Princeton, Wisconsin, son of Nicholas and Theresa Soda Lashock. Married Helen Theresa Metcalf, May 5, 1951, in Montello, Wis.; she died June 8, 2002. Gene delivered milk for Muller Pinehurst Dairy for 36 years, retiring in 1989. Faithful member of St. Patrick’s Church. He was a proud Teamster and long-time member of the International Order of Catholic Foresters. In retirement, Gene enjoyed playing golf and was proud of learning new cooking and cleaning skills, providing loving care for Helen in her later years.
Survived by his children, Darlene Woelffer, Rod “Chet” (Gwen), Carol Jean (Bruce) Archer, Rick (Alyce), Janet Croak, Craig, Linda (Brandon) Bedward; 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Jill and Donna; brothers, Dennis (Elaine), Adrian (Geraldine) and Urban (Bernadine); sisters, Inez Coda and Valeria Warnke; sisters-in-law Alice Quillen and Maxine Metcalf; and many nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by sons, Steve, Brian and Brad; sons-in-law, Patrick Woelffer and Chris Croak; sister, Alice and brothers, Leonard, Marvin and Ervin.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 2505 School St. with Fr. Alejandro Del Toro officiating. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., and from 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church prior to Mass.
