Eugene "Gene" Valetti

Eugene Albert "Gene" Valetti, 84, Rockford, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013, in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. He was born December 9, 1929, in Jeannette, PA, the son of Victor and Adrianna (Zambetti) Valetti. Gene was a veteran of the Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He married Elaine Boerio on November 24, 1955, in Latrobe, PA. Gene owned Systems Operations Service (SOS) in Rockford. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Survived by his loving wife, Elaine; his daughters, Cindy (Fred) Morgenthaler of Green Oaks and Lisa (Greg) Primuth of Acworth, GA; his son, Mark (Carmen) Valetti of Plano, TX: his grandchildren, Justin (Sarah) Morgenthaler, Lauren, Haley, and Taylor Primuth, Anthony, Michael, Matthew, and Mercedes Valetti; his great-grandson, Sawyer Morgenthaler. Predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Victor and Louis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, December 30, 2013, in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd, Rockford. Cremation rites will be accorded after the services. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 10:45 am on Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Center for Sight and Hearing, 8038 McIntosh Lane, Rockford, 61107.
