Eugene "Gene" John Kasowicz

Eugene “Gene” John Kasowicz, 79, Cherry Valley, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023. He was born in Chicago, the son of Eugene and Violet (Brezina) Kasowicz. Gene was a veteran serving in the Air Force. He married Andrea Trojan in Chicago on May 20, 1967. Gene was a salesman for printing companies in the Chicago area.

Survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Andrea; his children, Michele (David) Schmaltz of Maple Grove, MN, Kenneth (Jennifer) Kasowicz of Chicago, Meredith (Neal) Tapken of Adel, IA and Matthew (Mandy) Kasowicz of Maple Grove, MN; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Megan, Madeline and Claire Schmaltz, Kalene Kasowicz, Nathan, Sarah and Connor Tapken, Anika and Harper Kasowicz. Predeceased by his parents and son, Marc Andrew Kasowicz.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 17, 2023, at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Dr. Rockford. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service, on Friday, at the church. Arrangements by Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford.
