Eugene A. Nonnemacher

Eugene A. Nonnemacher, 71, Rockford, died suddenly on Monday morning August 20, 2012 in Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva. Born September 10, 1940 in Antigo, WI, son of Elmer and Marion Noskowiak Nonnemacher. Graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. Married Joan K. Schaefer on December 31,1964 in Manitowoc. She predeceased him on November 12, 2010. Served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was employed for many years by Lou Bachrodt Auto Mall, retiring in 2006.Eugene was an avid outdoorsman who loved to go fishing, hunting and boating. Most of all, he loved being a devoted grandpa. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren at all of their sporting events and activities. Survivors include his son, Jeffery (Mary) Nonnemacher, Bloomington; daughter, Jennifer Nonnemacher, Sugar Grove; mother, Marion Nonnemacher; sister, Betty Nauman; brother, Robert Nonnemacher and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by his father; son, Steven; and grandson, Mark. Funeral service at 3:30 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2012 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. with Rev. Bernard Sehr officiating. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation from 1:30 p.m. until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to "Jacob Nonnemacher" to be used for an educational fund.
