Esther Jean Coffey

Esther “Jean” J. Coffey, 81, of Rockford died Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at SwedishAmerican Hospital with her family at her side. Born November 13, 1934 in Rockford the daughter of Edmund H. and Lorretta A. (Cullen) Smale. Graduated from Bishop Muldoon High School class of 1953 and attended Rockford College and NIU. Jean married her loving husband George “Bill” W. Coffey on June 10, 1955 at St. Peter’s Cathedral. She worked as an Executive Secretary at Rockford Business College, Amerock Corp, Rexham Corp. and Alliance For Labor. Survived by her daughters, Carol (Bill Carlstrom) Coffey and Karen Coffey-Nielsen; grandchildren, Corey (Brandi) and Amber Coffey, Devin (Kelsey) and Robert (Nikki) Black and Hunter, Billy and Allie Carlstrom; great grandchildren, Devine, Aymond, Dominick, Destinee and Wyatt and Malachi and Alexander and Monique Coffey. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother Donald E. Smale.
