Estela Tejeda

Estela Tejeda, 77, of Rockford, IL passed away at home February 3, 2022. Estela was born January 14, 1945 in Edinburg, Texas the daughter of Guadalupe and Maria de Jesusa (Pena) Sandoval. Estela married the love of her life, Manuel G. Tejeda on April 25, 1969. Estela was known for her quick wit and straight forwardness. She enjoyed cooking, scratch off lottos and hosting big parties for her family. Family was everything to Estela especially “her boys”. Estela found joy in taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and watching them grow. Estela will be forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Estela is finally with her beloved Manuel whom she wished for since his passing.
Estela is survived by her children, Felicia (Sergio) Tejeda-Carreño and Vince Tejeda-Rodriguez; grandchildren, Sergio (Brandiana), Cruz (Katie), and Reyes Carreño; great-grandchildren, Makayla, Carter, and Kai; brother, Felimon Sandavol; Godchildren, Michael Anthony, James, Rick, Justin, Stephanie, Sara, Michele, and Krystal, Martin, Rueben; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, Guadalupe and Maria and husband, Manuel.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 10:00 – 12:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Rockford, IL 61103. Funeral Liturgy will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Monsignor Knox officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a cause to be determined.
