ERNESTINE E. BROCKWAY, 92 ROCKFORD - Ernestine E. Brockway, 92, of Rockford passed away Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, in Provena St. Anne. Born Jan. 31, 1918 in Crawford County, Wis., the daughter of Leo and Theresa (Murphy) Bagley. Married Hubert E. Brockway on June 30, 1936, in Gays Mills, Wis. Member of St. Edward Church, Altar and Rosary Society of St. Peter and Paul. Worked at Eastern Star for many years. She continued her education at Rock Valley College. Ernestine loved to keep up on current events. Survivors include children, James (Judy) Brockway, Donald Brockway, Cherie (Frans) Evenhuis and Sara Roy; sisters, Mary Hueckman, Helen Hallberg, Phyllis (Al) Johnson and Joyce Marcell; and brother, Leo (Jean) Bagley Jr.; grandchildren, Gina (Gene) Dyreson, Jon Brockway, Sheri Brockway, Michael Brockway, Lisa Brockway, Mark (Linda) Brockway, Rebecca (Wayne) Collier, Lori Blum, Jay (Lisa) Keres, Janine Moore, Rene Keres, Shelly Saladino, Michelle (Tom) Saladino, John Saladino, Courtney (Shane) Saladino, Paige Brockway, Kelly Kasir and Matt Roy; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Predeceased by husband, Hubert; daughters, Mary Lou Keres and Jane Brockway; grandson, Jimmy Brockway Jr.; mother, Carol Brockway; sister, Leoette Hutnik; and brother, Frank Bagley. Mass of Resurrection at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 5, in St. Edward Church, with Father Michael Black officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, with rosary recited at 8 p.m., and visitation from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Friday in the church.
