Ernest DeNale, 90, of Rockford, Illinois died May 18, in Rockford, Illinois.
He was born January 6, 1932, in Evanstown, Pennsylvania, and was the son of the late Arcangelo and Virginia Maccagnan DeNale. He graduated from Sewickley Township High School and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He then received an associate degree in electrical technology from Penn State University. He married Mary Catherine Orczeck in 1959 and worked for Burroughs Corporation as a field engineer on Air Force early warning systems. After Burroughs, he worked for NCR and retired after 33 years of service. He belonged to the American Legion Post 1207 and the Navy Club Ship #1 both in Rockford, Illinois. His hobbies were playing golf, gardening, and traveling throughout the United States and to other countries.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Battista (Adelaide Comini), Santino, and Martin. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary; son David (Laura Perrino) DeNale; daughter Christina (Brian) Frank; and three grandsons: Nicholas DeNale (Coast Guard), Evan and Tyler Frank; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 23, 2022, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service located at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. Final resting place will conclude in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
