ERNEST D.ERNIE SEATON, 80, Rockford, died at 4:15a.m., Sunday, March 25, 2007 in Asta Care Center.nbsp; Born July 27, 1926 in Stephenson County, son of Ernest Henry and Hattie Ives Lowry Seaton.nbsp; Lived most of his life in Rockford.nbsp; Married Barbara J. Finkbeiner on May 1, 1948.nbsp; He was a Deputy Sheriff with the Winnebago County Sheriffs Department for 33 years, retiring in 1988.nbsp; Prior to that he was a car painter for both Strandquist Motors and Humphrey Cadillac and Oldsmobile.nbsp; Veteran of the U.S. Army.nbsp; Member of St. Rita Catholic Church.nbsp; Also member of F.O.P and the Moose Club.nbsp; Ernie was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved photography.nbsp; He enjoyed playing the organ and was a wonderful story teller. nbsp; Survivors include his sons, Dale (Carole) Seaton, Machesney Park, Ernest Ernie (Diane) Seaton and David (Pam) Seaton both of Rockford; grandchildren, Chad (Melissa) Seaton, Nicki, Kyle, Andrew, Shawn and Shane Seaton; great-grandchildren, Britani and Zachary Seaton.nbsp; Predeceased by his wife, Barbara on December 25, 2004; sister, Irene Stickler on December 24, 1988; brothers James Tommy on January 5, 1991, Charlie on February 22, 1995 and Willard Bill on August 22, 1975. nbsp; Funeral service at 10:00a.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd.nbsp; with Rev. William R. Wentink officiating.nbsp; Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.nbsp; Visitation from 6P.M. until 8P.M. Tuesday with a Rosary to be recited at 7:30p.m.nbsp; Visitation also from 9:00a.m. until time of the service on Wednesday.nbsp; In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association.
