Eric W. Singer

Eric W. Singer, 23, of Rockford, met his Heavenly Father on March 7, 2015. Born on June 9, 1991, in Green Bay, WI; son of Michael Singer and Laura (Magner) Singer. Eric was a 2009 graduate of Guilford High School and was employed by Mechanical, Inc. in Freeport as a Metal Trades apprentice. Eric lived life to the fullest by spending time with his family and friends, watching his favorite sports teams, “chillin” with his friends, playing video games with Grant, and spending time in Chicago with his love, Emily. He enjoyed working out, playing basketball, dirt biking, and motorcycles. Eric touched the hearts of so many and will forever be missed by those who knew him. Eric is survived by his parents; Laura (Richard Haffey) Singer and Michael “Mick” (Debbie Gille) Singer; brother, Grant Singer; girlfriend, Emily Baglin; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth B. Magner; paternal grandmother, Shirley E. Ketcher; aunts, Margaret (Bill) Wadlington, Jane (Bob Notto) Magner, Amanda Magner; uncles, Tim (Mary) Singer, John “Sean” Singer; aunt, Joan Hall; several cousins, and many wonderful friends. Predeceased by his grandfathers, Larry E. Magner and Jack Singer. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL, 61108, with Pastor Doug Thiesen officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 13, at the funeral home; and 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday.
