Erasmo Hernanadez

Erasmo Hernandez, 77 of Poplar Grove, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, surrounded by his family. Born September 26, 1940, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, the son of Aluerio & Hortencia (Quinones) Hernandez. Marred Dolores Hernandez in Chicago, IL on May 27, 1967. Served in the US Army during Vietnam War. Worked for International Paper. He enjoyed woodworking, watching the Chicago Bears, traveling, but most of spending time with his family.
Survivors include wife, Dolores; children, Eduardo (Maria) Hernandez and Gwendolyne (James) Nosko; grandchildren James Nosko Jr, Anthony Nosko, Andres and Gianna Hernandez; sister, Rafaela and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, infant daughter Mariber and sister Josefa.
Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Thursday, September 20. 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL 61108, with the Rev. William R. Wentink officiating.
