Englbert "Bert" Schallmoser Sr.

Englbert “Bert” Schallmoser Sr., 84, of Des Plaines, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 7:05 a.m.

Bert was born November 25, 1935 in Chicago, IL, son of Englbert Schallmoser and Marie (Binder) Schallmoser. He worked many years for Teletype Corporation in shipping until he retired. Bert was a longtime member of the Pioneer’s Telecom Volunteer Network. He enjoyed being outdoors and going for walks. Most of all, he loved spending his time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bert will be dearly missed.

Surviving relatives include his daughter, Deborah (Sam Ferrille) Schallmoser; grandchildren, Michael Schallmoser, Hollee (Schallmoser) Aumann and Brandon Schallmoser; great-grandchildren, Riley and Liam Schallmoser, Damona Noelle and Kaylee Mae Aumann; older sister, Marie (Schallmoser) Cusentino and twin sister, Alice (Schallmoser) Johnny Swanson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; his dog, Gizmo and ex-wife, Martha Ann Schallmoser. Bert is predeceased by his parents and son, Engelbert Schallmoser Jr.

There will be no public services held at this time. Cremation rites will be accorded.
