Emmett E. Grace, 86, of Rockford passed away Monday, October 15, 2018 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. He was born June 25, 1932 in Joliet, IL to Francis P. and Agnes M. Grace. He married Carolyn Miner on May 13, 2000. Emmett was a veteran serving in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict on the USS Charles P. Cecil DDR835, and as a ceremonial guard in Washington DC. He was owner of Rockford Home Juice Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1990. In retirement, he worked at The Golf Shack and Aldeen Golf Club. He was an avid golfer, loved playing cards with the guys, and enjoyed reading books.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; children, Susan Grace, Patti (Bruce) Hale, Steve (Amy) Grace, Keith (Shari) Grace and Nancy (Shawn) Carney; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Luke) Barnet, Maureen (Mike) Hamachek, Baxter and Cole Grace, Zoe Hale, Patrick and Marigrace Carney; great-grandchildren, Henry Hamachek and Jack Barnet.
Predeceased by his parents; brother, James P. Grace; and mother of his children, Barbara J. (Kozar) Grace.
Funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. Private family burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established at a later date. Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, assisted the family.
