Emma Ann Stieglitz, 27, died unexpectedly at her home on March 20, 2018 after years of battling anxiety and depression. Emma was born July 30, 1990 in Rockford, IL to Barbara and Thomas Stieglitz, M.D. She was born with bright orange hair and a personality to match. She is a daughter, sister, life partner, mommy, and best friend.
Emma attended Holy Family, Boylan High School, Rockford University, and Southern Illinois University. For the past 4 years she has resided in Denver where she fulfilled her lifelong dream of having a family of her own.
Emma will be remembered for her unique, fun loving personality, her sense of humor, her intelligence and quick wit, her love of animals especially her dog Pig, and for the unconditional love she gave to everyone in her life.
Emma is survived by her parents, Barbara and Thomas Stieglitz, M.D.; son, Silas David Jurkowski; sisters Nora (Brian) Groeschel and Hannah Stieglitz, brother Ezra (Hannah Hovar) Stieglitz, Emma’s life partner and father of their beautiful son Silas, Nick Jurkowski and many extended family members. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Adolph Stieglitz, maternal grandmother Mary Federspiel, aunt Pam Bertram Stieglitz, and cousin Abi Heath.
Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2018 in Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Phillip A. Kaim officiating. Visitation from 2-5 p.m. Sunday in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. and from noon until time of the Mass at the church on Monday.
