Elvyra was born on September 6, 1928, the daughter of Joseph and Maria Zauka. Driven from their home in Lithuania during WWII at the age of 16, she travelled with her family through various countries until making her way to Toronto, Canada, where she married the love of her life, Lionginas Bartusevicius on July 12, 1952. As a true matriarch, her example, values, traditions and influence reflect in the generations that follow and will forever hold her dear in our hearts. Her enthusiasm for life, family and friends, coupled with her ability to overcome adversity, defined Elvyra. She never let a bump in the road slow her down, and always handled life’s struggles with grace, strength and dignity. Her passing truly brings to a close an era. Her generosity and graciousness will truly be missed by all, as she welcomed everyone warmly into her home.
She worked at Barnes Drill in the Stones Department for 30 years. Elvyra was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
