Elsie May (Johnson) Serns-Davis, 92 Elsie May (Johnson) Serns-Davis, born August 18, 1915 to George Albert and Minnie May Prescott Johnson in Tarr Valley near Tunnel City, Monroe County, WI. passed on December 17, 2007 at Wesley Willows Retirement home in Rockford. Elsie graduated from Tarr Valley Grade School in May of 1929 and graduated from Tomah Wisconsin High School in June of 1933, married H. Burdette Bryant in Tunnel City, WI on March 3, 1934 and divorced in October 1943 in Beloit, WI. Married Floyd B. Serns on February 10, 1945 in Rockford, IL, who died on October 31, 1976. Married William E. Davis on August 1, 1987. Elsie had two children, Benny Kay (Dennis) Jorgenson and George A. (Doris) Serns. Six stepchildren Delores (Lawrence R.) Harding, of Juda, WI; Owen (Judy) Serns of Rockford; William E. (Judy) Davis of Winona, MN; James R. (Janet) Davis of St. Cloud, MN; Lawrence (Darlene) Davis of Milton, WI; and Robert A. Davis of Rockford. Four grandsons Jeremy C. Jorgenson of Ritalo, CA; Justin S. Jorgenson of Granite Bay, CA; Jonathan W. Jorgenson of Ridgecrest, CA and Jonathan Serns of Rockford. Nineteen step- grandchildren, numerous great- grandchildren and great- great- grandchildren. Elsie was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, The Mayflower Descendants, Rockford Chapter of DAR, New England Women, Guildford Chapter of Colonial Dames, daughters of American Colonies, Sons of Norway, Valhall Lodge 168, Daughters of Valhall, Rockford Historical Society, Winnebago- Boone Genealogy Society and the Tinker Cottage. The family was assisted by Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., Rockford, IL 61103. Memorials in care of Wesley Willows, 4141 N.
