Elroy Hennes

Elroy Joseph Hennes, 85, of Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 3, 1935, in Aurora, the son of Walter and Erma (Voga) Hennes. He married the love of his life, Sandra on March 10, 1958. Elroy was a member of the Rockford Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He enjoyed playing cards, traveling, woodworking, shopping at Menards and spending time with with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters; Tanya (Ken) Stine and Lisa Blankenship; grandchildren, Cody (Lindsey) Blankenship and MacKenzie (Kyle) Goodus, their father Kevin Blankenship and honorary grandchildren, Catherine Radosevich, Teresa (Cory) Casteneda and Kaimberlyn Hecox; his great grandchildren, Kane, Mason and Isaac Blankenship; sister, Joyce Nichols and sisters-in-law Joanne Hennes, Lexis LeQuenne, Linda Mount, Tori (Jerry) Tieben and Valerie McNamara, many nieces and nephews, special friends Brian and Renae Peters, the Griffeth family, Paul and Laurie Fowler and Mike and Linda Harris. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra, parents, and brother Wayne Hennes. The family would like to thank DeShonna and Alexander from Heartland Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
