Ellen L. Parlapiano

Ellen L. Parlapiano, 64, of Rockford, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017. She was born November 6, 1953, in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of Paul and Lucille Giovingo. She was a graduate of Boylan Catholic High School class of 1971. Ellen worked as a loan officer for many years. She was a long time member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
Ellen was a generous women with a strong will. She loved sports, cheering on the Boylan Titans, with her friends, the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. Other than family, sweets and black coffee were among her favorite things. Above all, Ellen will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend.
Survived by her son; Michael (Stacey) Parlapiano, daughter; Ann (Kit) Parlapiano, mother; Lucille Giovingo, sisters; Elaine (Gary) Weber, Diane (Bruce) Saxon, and Joan (Tom) Spoden, grandchildren; Isabella and Emma Parlapiano, special uncle; Phil Giovingo and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her father; Paul Giovingo and grandparents; Tony and Louise Giovingo.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Ave, Rockford, IL 61103. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
