Elizabeth A. Hooper, 89, of Rockford died Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. She was born December 12, 1923 in Buffalo Hart, Illinois. She was the daughter of Frank and Florence Bohn. Russell B. Hooper and Elizabeth were married in San Luis Obispo, California on July 13, 1942. She was a loving wife and mother working for 5 years in the office of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and continued to volunteer there as the leader of the Sew 'N Sews (making quilts for Lutheran World Relief) and many other organizations. Elizabeth volunteered for 31 years at St. Anthony Medical Center in medical records, Human Resources, at the gift shop and administration offices. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Lynn) Heinemann and son, Alan (Tracy) Hooper, both of Rockford; brother, Charles Bohn; grandsons, Daniel Heinemann and James Anderson. Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents, 9 brothers and sisters, her husband, Russell and son, Steven.
Memorial service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
