Eleanor Lorraine Vogeler

Eleanor L. Vogeler, 85, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017 at OSF St. Anthony in Rockford. She was born on November 2, 1931 in Holcomb, IL the daughter of William and Viola (Glawe) Bolthouse. She married Verlis Vogeler on September 9, 1950 in Ashton, IL. Together they lived in Ashton on a family farm, and relocated to Rockford in 1972. Eleanor worked for Stokeley’s, Furst Johnson and Barber Colman for many years. She was an avid Bulls, Bears and Illinois fan. She enjoyed board games, playing cards and never missed an opportunity to decorate her home for all occasions. She was a talented cook and baker, making her home the ideal gathering place for friends and family. Her family brought her the most joy and she found friendship in all of those she met. She will be missed by all of those who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Lori Vogeler, Sandy (Jim) Woodhouse, and Brian Vogeler; her stepgrandchildren, Mike (Kim) Davis, and Jeff Woodhouse and their families; her brothers, William (Linda) Bolthouse, and Russell (Kathy) Bolthouse; numerous nieces and nephews; dear friends, Vicki Price, Katherine Rippentrop, Sara Patterson, and Carol Letisinger. Predeceased by her husband, parents, sister in-law, Rogene Bowers, and brother in-law, Jim Bowers.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5- 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel. Burial Monroe Center Cemetery.
