Eldon L. Ring

Eldon L. Ring, 92, Loves Park, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Osseo, Wisconsin on January 20, 1921; the son of James L. and Beatrice (Gilpin) Ring. He was a proud US veteran serving as a corporal in the Army during WWII. Eldon was formerly married to Wanda Bezdek. He later married Orpha Myers; she preceded him in death in 2004. Eldon worked for more than 30 years at Rockford Blacktop and offered part time help for over 20 years at Smith Oil Company before retiring in 1986. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed woodworking and hunting. Eldon was a member of the Loves Park VFW.

He survived by his children, Pamela (Richard) Boyle, Charles Ring, Patti Giger, Debbi (Jesus)Vicencio and Vikki (Ronald) Frye; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Predeceased by his parents, wife, Orpha and sister, Susan Olson. The family would like to thank his caregiver Rose for her compassionate care she provided over the past 2 years.
Per Eldon's wishes there will be no services held. Cremation rites have been accorded.
