Eilena Cicero

Eilena Cicero, 94, Rockford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 19, 2025. She was born in Rockford on May 7, 1930, the daughter of Joseph and Stefana (Gebbia) Caronna.

Eilena graduated from Rockford West High School, class of 1947. She married Charles Cicero on September 23, 1950. Eilena was employed in the office of Contour Hosiery prior to becoming a homemaker after marriage.

Eilena enjoyed taking care of her home and her dogs, Baron, Chestar, Corey and Daisy. Her dogs were a great and unexpected joy in her life. Eilena was married to her soul mate, Charles, for a blessed 67 years before losing him on March 22, 2018. Eilena was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

Survived by her brother, Joseph Caronna; her brother-in-law, Sam Cicero; her nephews, Robert (MaryAnn), John (Debbie) and Stephen; her nieces, Gina (Mike) and Jennifer (Dana); numerous great-nieces and great nephews; her God daughter, Lucia (Mark) and her special friend Nilie (Gary).

Predeceased by her husband, Charles; her parents, Joseph and Stefana Caronna; her in-laws, Peter and Maria Cicero; her sister-in-law, Patricia Caronna; her in-laws, Joseph and Grace Cicero and Sally Cicero; her nephew, Peter Cicero.

The family would like to thank her caregiver, Tricia, for the many years of care and companionship that she provided to Eilena. In addition, a special thank you to all the wonderful staff at Alpine Fireside Health Center and OSF Hospice for their exceptional care over the past year.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, April 25, 2025, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1010 Ferguson St. Rockford, with Reverend Carl Beekman officiating. Private burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until 10:15 A.M. on Friday at the church.
