Eileen M. Hudzinski, 94, of Rockford, went to be with the Lord on January 4, 2009 in her home surrounded by her family. Eileen was born July 21, 1914 in Cascade, Iowa, the daughter of William and Mary (Dalham) Featherston. Eileen married the true love of her life, John B. Hudzinski on August 18, 1934 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Rockford where each of the 65 blessed anniversaries were celebrated. Eileen was a homemaker and member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church for 74 years. She was also a member of the St. Stanislaus Kostka Rosary Society which later became the St. Stanislaus Womens League. Eileen especially cherished the special time with her grandchildren and nurturing of their families. She has always held a special place in her heart for the many dogs of the family. Eileen loved crocheting, making afghans, cooking, baking, camping at Grand Valley Campground in Dalton, WI, family vacations in Hayward, WI, and the Polish Fest at St. Stanislaus. Eileens family truly was her life. Eileen is survived by her children, David Hudzinski, John (Madalene) Hudzinski, Beverly Sullivan (special friend, Jim Robertson), and James (Anne) Hudzinski; her grandchildren, Kathleen (Gary) Tompson, Karen (David) Murphy, Andrew (Connie) Hudzinski, Daniel (Marcy) Hudzinski, Michael (Tina) Hudzinski, Tina (Jeff) Hedberg, Jeffrey (Shawn) Hansen, Gregory (Cynthia) Hansen, James (Michelle) Hudzinski, and Nicholas Hudzinski; her great-grandchildren, Conner, Megan, Shana, Christian, Hallie, Danica, John, Sydney, Ashley, Hannah, Garrett, Jack, and Rylie Jane; her good neighbors, Dick and Jackie Parod and numerous nieces and nephews. Eileen was predeceased by her parents, her husband, John (June 26, 2000), three brothers, William, Joseph, and Charles, three sisters, Martha, Rose, and Lucille, her son-in-law Terrence Sullivan and her granddaughter, Theresa Marie Hudzinski. Eileens family would like to extend a special thank you to Northern Illinois Hospice and Grief Center for their compassionate care given to Eileen and her family. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 10:00 AM at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 201 Buckbee St., Rockford with Rev. Piotr Sarnicki officiating, assisted by her son Deacon James Hudzinski. Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 from 4:00 P.M. 7:00 P.M.(with a Rosary at 6:30 P.M.) at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. and on Thursday from 9:00 9:45 A.M. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
