Edward (Skip) Lyle Madru, Jr., 81   Roscoe Edward (Skip) Lyle Madru, Jr., 81 of Roscoe, IL died at 5:58 a.m. on June 26, 2009 after a long illness. Born December 8, 1927 in South Beloit, IL to Edward and Agnes (Kerner) Madru.  He Enlisted with US Navy from 1944 thru 1984. Married Virginia Mae Engen in South Beloit, IL on July 17, 1948. He Lived 43 years in Rockford from 1964 until he retired in 1992 to Lake Placid, Fl and returned to Illinois in 2003. He was employed by Rockford Sanitary District 1954 -1959. From 1959 until 1974 employed as accountant by Beaver Gear and then as corporate Secretary and co-owner of BVR from 1974 until his retirement in 1992. Loving member and faithful servant of St. Bridget Parish, Loves Park, IL and St. James Parish, Lake Placid, FL serving as Eucharistic minister, lector, and choir member. Ed was a 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus Muldoon Council 470 and a 4th degree member of the General Assembly 190. Ed also served as Grand Knight of Council No.4330 at St. Bridget Parish and same for Council No.7245 at St. James Parish He also served as District Deputy of the Florida State Council and Faithful Navigator. Member of South Beloit American Legion. Survivors; wife, Virginia Mae; daughters, Christine (Randy) Skattum and Ann Elston. Grandchildren; Jennifer (Todd) Whiteman, Amy (Gene) McDonald and Aaron Elston. Great-grandchildren; Ava, Caitlin, Allison and Ethan. Sister; Agnes Eddy. Sisters-in-law; Margaret (Hind) Whalen and Beverly (Don) Johnson. Brother-in-law Donald (Lois) Engen. Predeceased by parents, two sisters, Marie Claire (Goldthorpe) Strand and Patricia Ann Peck, Brothers-in-law Joseph (Red) Hinde, Charles Whalen, Llewellyn Eddy, William Strand and Robert Goldthorpe. Memorial mass will be held at a later date at. St. Bridgets Catholic Church. Family assisted by Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory (Riverside Chapel).
