Edward J. DiVito, 74 of Rockford passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017. He was born on September 16, 1942 in Chicago, the son of Edmund and Marie (Malone) DiVito. He was a driver for Nihan & Martin Pharmacy for 40 years, also serving as their women’s baseball team’s coach for 20 years. Edward was an avid Chicago sports fan, supporting teams like the Bulls, Blackhawks, Bears, and especially the Cubs. He was a humble man that will be missed by all of those who knew him.
He is survived by his sister, Rosemary (Reno) Sandona; his nephew, Peter Sandona; and several cousins in the Chicagoland area. He is predeceased by his parents.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Peter. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Entombment Calvary Cemetery.
