Edward H. Kittel, 79, a resident of Rockford for 55 years, went to be with the Lord on August 10, 2008, in his home surrounded by his family. Edward was born April 9, 1929, in Watertown, WI the son of William and Laura (Hanke) Kittel. Edward worked as a machine repair engineer for: Atwood Vacuum, retired in 1999 from Atwood Mobile Products and after his retirement worked part-time for MTP, Inc. (Papa Johns). He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and active with the Corn Boil, a volunteer with the Abiding Group at Wesley Willows, was always looking to learn something new, enjoyed Nascar, playing cards and was always willing to volunteer his time to others. Edward is survived by his wife Judy (together for 19 years his sons, Clifford (Karen Streeter) Kittel and Curtis (Kim) Kittel; his daughter, Andrea (Jose) Kittel-Wingo; His granddaughter, Kelly Kittel; his brothers, William ""Bill"" and Fred Kittel; his sisters, Nora Zubke, Ella Reinel and Mary Meyer; mothers of his children, Janet Nimm (Kittel) and Robin Kittel and many nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by his parents and his sister Ruth Weege. A special thank you to the Visiting Nurses Association Hospice for their compassionate care given to Edward. A memorial service will be celebrated on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 1 P.M. at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 4055 N. Rockton Ave. with Pastor George David officiating. A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 12 P.M.(Noon) until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association Hospice, 4223 E.
