Edward G. Newell, Jr, 71 passed away, Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at River Bluff Nursing Home. Born April 14, 1943, in Rockford, the son of Edward G. & Agnes (Kurkerewicz) Newell, Sr. Graduated from West High school, class of 1961. Married Jillene Phelps, in Dubuque, IA, on June 29, 1964
Ed worked for Rockford Tool Craft for many years, retiring in 2005. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping, but most of all he enjoyed the time spent with his family during the holidays and celebrating birthdays at the home. Ed will be dearly missed by his loving family.
Survivors include wife Jill; daughters Robyn (Ralph) Koeninger and Kristine Newell; grandchildren Angela-Lynn, Kaitlynn Koeninger, Emily Newell, great grandchildren Carter Dahlmeier and Connor Husolo; brothers James (Pat) Newell and John (Deanne) Newell. He is preceded in death by sisters Susann Harlan and Cynthia Harlan.
