Edward C. Makosh, 83, of Cape Coral, Florida died Tuesday, September 12, 2017. Born July 19, 1934 in Rockford, Illinois, the son of John and Frances Jarocz Makosh. He was a graduate of St. Thomas High School. Ed met Ann C. Foley in 8th grade and they married on August 7, 1954 in St. Patrick Church. Ann predeceased Ed on February 16, 2017 after 62 years of marriage. Ed was a supervisor of the tool and die department at Amerock before retiring in 1996. His leisure activities included playing AAU basketball for the Blackhawk Athletic club, coaching youth baseball, volunteering at church and hospitals, playing golf, boating and spending winters in Florida. He also enjoyed being the information guru of his local residences.
Survivors include daughter, Cynthia (Bob) Clark; son, Jeff (Christine) Makosh; grandchildren, Andy (Kelly) Clark, Melissa (Jeremy) Toltzman, Jason (Michelle) Schlieben and Young Makosh; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Jennie Ciembronowicz and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, wife, Ann, sister, Lottie Fitzpatrick, brother, Chester Makosh.
Memorial mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017 at St. Bridget Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Friday at the church. Inurnment in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, assisted the family.
