Edna “Eda” M. Williams, 95, of Rockford, passed away on March 12, 2023. She was born on September 8, 1927 in Rockford, the daughter of John and Antonia (Buttoni) Pro. She graduated from West High School, class of 1946. She married Donald “Don” Williams on June 25, 1949, and he preceded her in death on October 24, 2011. She worked as a receptionist for NyDel Supply and Rockford Screw Products.
She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and St. Ambrose Society. She enjoyed reading and traveling across the country with Don. Eda cherished the time at the casino with her sister Mickey.
She is survived by her children, Marsha Verken and Robert (Mary) Williams; grandchildren, Andy (Tina) Cantrell, Chrissy Bogardus, and Mike (Keli) Williams; great grandchildren, Scarlett, Max, and Miranda Bogardus and Wesley Lee; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, John and Antonia; husband, Don; granddaughter, Rosie Williams; brothers, Aldo Pro, Angelo Pro, Emil Pro, Robert Pro, and Tony Pro; sisters, Dalia Pro Giordano; Gina Pro Gullotta, Helen Pro Buscemi, Rita Pro Liberatori, and Mickey Pro Bleile.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Northwoods Nursing Home and Mercy Health Hospice, especially Jessica.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, March 17, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1010 Ferguson St. Rockford, IL 61102. A visitation will take place prior to mass starting at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family or St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
