Earl Harmon Williams

Earl (Mickey) Harmon Williams, Sr. 86, passed away Easter Sunday April 8, 2007 in Rockford. He was born March 7, 1921 in Lostant, Ill, the son of J.B. and Clara (Siemers) Williams of Stillman Valley, Ill. He graduated from Belvidere High School in 1939 where he was fondly known as ""Butch"" . Earl served in the Navy during WW II and later married Marilyn J. Anderson on February 21, 1947. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He was a lifelong farmer in Cherry Valley and remained on the farm until his death. He was a member of the Cherry Valley United Methodist Church for over 50 years, where he also taught Sunday School. He served as a Cherry Valley Township Trustee, a member of the Cherry Valley School Board, and a 4-H volunteer. He loved his wife, his family and farming. He is survived by his wife Marilyn, sons Earl (Arlene) Williams Jr. of Cherry Valley, Dr. Donald (Barbara) Williams of Fort Atkinson, WI, and daughter Diane (Jim) Mueller, Mundelein, IL. Grandchildren Emily, Megan, Lauren Williams; Jay, Jack, Molly, Brian Williams, and Suzanne, Jennifer and Courtney Mueller. They will all remember his tractor rides and stories of his youth. He is also survived by his brother Keith Williams of Rockford, and predeceased by his sister Lois June Donner. Services will be Wednesday April 11, 2007 at 1:00p.m. at the Cherry Valley United Methodist Church at 112 S. Cherry St. with the pastor, Rev. Nancy Rethford and Rev. Richard Wang of Our Masters United Methodist Church, Rockford, officiating. Burial in Kishwaukee Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 AM until time of the service at the church. A special Thank You to the staff at Rosewood Care Center and Hospice Care of America. Memorials may be made to Cherry Valley United Methodist Church.
